Sometimes you just have to pinch yourself.
A little while ago I was asked by two of the most successful authors in erotica, Carl East and Virginia Wade, if I wanted to take part in an erotic horror anthology with them. After thinking hard about it for approximately 0.001 seconds, I said ‘Yes’.
If anyone is remotely interested in erotica you will have heard of both authors and are likely to have some of their titles in your collection. Carl has over a staggering 100 books available in the Kindle store and is constantly at the top end of the bestseller lists. He’s no stranger to this genre, with “Hell’s Gate” full of demons and sex galore. Virginia, a regular fixture in the erotica charts herself, is the author of over 20 books including the hugely popular “Stacy Series”. Her latest book tackles the sensitive and sometimes misunderstood subject of monster sex, delicately titled “Cum for Bigfoot“.
Carl had been trying to garner interest in an erotic paranormal anthology for some time. When Virginia said she was in, he reached out to me to complete the trio. From then, everything was collaborative. Carl pulled the book together with formatting and the table of contents, I designed the cover and Virginia (and her wonderful husband) put it all together, converted into different formats and published it. We communicated constantly, made decisions together and got constant feedback from each other. We are, obviously, thrilled with the result.
I can’t stress enough how immensely honoured I am to work with these two legends of the genre. They’re both wonderful people and terrific authors and to have my name on the cover with them is a dream come true – proof that three really does work better than one. I’m so pleased with the resulting anthology – Nocturnal Cravings. It features three sexy but terrifying tales: “The Hybrid” by Carl East, “The Demon in Alice” from Virginia Wade and “In The House Of Shadows” by me, Katie Cramer. You can pick up a copy for just $4.99 from Amazon right now (click HERE for US or HERE for UK).
This is an unbelievably exciting time to be an author. Not only do we get to meet and interact with the people we admire, we even get to work with them sometimes. If you’re a writer, why not reach out and try to work collaboratively with fellow authors? You could find the result is a project you’re hugely proud of – just like this one.
